A new direction, incorporating my “drawing aesthetic.” I plan to do a series of at least 5 figures, all at a scale of 36”x48”. “this idea,” (for the sake of art jargon) is based on E.O. Wilson’s biophilia hypothesis that deals with humans connectedness to nature as an inevitable evolutionary trait. Personally, I don’t enjoy working tedious hours with 4 different graphite pencils on such a large surface, so I just omit parts. Once again, for the sake of art terminology, I will b.s. around my process and argue that the contour lines help the composition, and make it conceptual- serving as a grid or framework to support the figure just as a metaphorical “idea” of DNA. Better yet… if you have a mustache and wear a fedora, you could say that it’s neutral and tattered which makes it EXISTENTIAL! Nietzsche would roll in his grave. Can I make it in “this idea” of “the art world” with an entirely sardonic mentality? I’m going to bed now.
